May 19, 2015 - New York’s Top Drivers Use Trans Tech Buses in School Bus Safety Competition
Valley Cottage, NY – The Type-A buses driven during the 44th Annual New York State School Bus Drivers Competition were manufactured by Trans Tech. More than 100 drivers took part in the competition held at Rockland Lake State Park, on Saturday, May 16th.
“It’s great to see Trans Tech Type-A buses put through their paces during this highly competitive event,” said Trans Tech President John Phraner. “It’s only fitting that the toughest small school buses on the road, from New York’s only school bus manufacturer, were driven by New York’s best school bus drivers during a safety competition.”
The day began with a written exam on school bus safety, and then went throughout the afternoon with driver’s testing their skills in a variety of hands-on situations from vehicle inspection, to loading and unloading students, to turning and stopping, railroad crossings and more.
The Trans Tech Type-A buses were provided by Quality Bus Service based in Sparrowbush, New York.
